SEO, or search engine optimization, has been the cornerstone of marketing and advertising for over a decade. With so many different agencies offering their own takes on SEO, it can be hard to know who’s right for your business. Is it even worth hiring an expert at all? Well, yes — but there are some things you should know before diving in headfirst.

Will SEO be a good investment for you?

SEO is a long-term investment that can help you get more customers, but it won’t make you money immediately. It’s not a quick fix and it isn’t always guaranteed to work. SEO is not a magic bullet, or cure-all for your business problems.

If you’re looking for an immediate injection of cash into your bank account coming in from Google search results alone then SEO probably isn’t for you!

What are the advantages of SEO?

It’s a long-term investment, so you’re not going to see a return on it overnight. But if you’re willing to invest in SEO and put in the time, effort and energy required for it to work properly, then there are several advantages that can result from doing so:

  • You’ll be able to get more customers coming through your doors at all times of day or night (and they’ll probably spend more money than those who found their way there organically).
  • It doesn’t cost very much money per month or year compared with other marketing strategies like print advertising or TV spots–and those costs will go down even further once your site starts ranking higher!

What are the disadvantages of SEO?

SEO can be expensive

  • SEO isn’t cheap. It takes time, effort, and resources to make your website rank well in search engines. If you’re not prepared to invest this much effort into it, then you might as well forget about doing SEO altogether because it won’t work anyway!

SEO takes time to work

  • Your website won’t start ranking immediately after hiring an SEO expert; it will take months (sometimes years) before you start seeing results from their efforts on your behalf. In fact many people hire an agency only for them not to see any improvement at all! So don’t expect overnight success with this tactic–you need patience!

How much will it cost to do SEO?

The cost of SEO is a tricky thing to pin down. It depends on a lot of factors, including the size of your business and the number of keywords you want to target. If you’re just starting out, an SEO expert can help guide you through this process and give you a fixed quote for their services.

If they agree with me that hiring an expert isn’t necessary (and they won’t lead me astray), then I’d like them to help me with other things, such as social media management and copywriting. I’m also interested in learning how my site stacks up against competitors’ when it comes down to search rankings–and whether there are any easy fixes we can make before investing too much money into something more complicated like re-designing our entire website from scratch!

The right SEO expert can help your business grow, but they don’t come cheap.

The right SEO expert can help your business grow, but they don’t come cheap.

The cost of hiring an SEO expert varies depending on the size and complexity of your website, how many people you want to reach and how much time you’re willing to devote to improving its performance. On average, we’ve found that most small-to-medium sized businesses should expect to pay between $1,000-$3,000 per month for ongoing services from an experienced agency–though some may charge less or more depending on their rates and capabilities.
